Walkability Study & Pathway Development (Phase 1)

Creating a Safer, More Accessible Ronan

Project Overview

The Walkability Study & Pathway Development (Phase 1) is a key initiative designed to improve pedestrian and bicycle access in Ronan while making the town safer and more accessible for both residents and visitors. This project will consolidate over a decade of walkability research into a single master plan and implement the first phase of pathway construction.

By prioritizing safe, well-connected pedestrian routes, the project will encourage healthier travel options, support local businesses, and enhance the overall experience for tourists and community members exploring Ronan.

Goals of the project

Assess & improve pedestrian infrastructure by consolidating existing plans into a unified walkability strategy.

Construct a safe, accessible pathway along 3rd Avenue, linking Main Street, schools, the fairgrounds, the Boys & Girls Club, and the CSKT Park/Skate Park.

Support downtown beautification efforts with wayfinding signage, landscaping, and pedestrian-friendly enhancements.

Enhance tourism accessibility by improving walkable connections to local businesses and attractions.

Encourage alternative transportation by making Ronan a more walkable and bike-friendly community.
